Augustinerkeller – historical cellar under the Albertina
The Augustinerkeller is one of the last monastery cellars in Vienna’s old town. It was not until 1924 that a restaurant was set up in the old vaults of the original fortifications. The old vaults can still be admired today and the typical Viennese hospitality is offered.
Traditional Viennese cuisine is offered, complemented by Austrian wines and an Opernbräu draft beer. Heurigen music provides musical accompaniment in the evenings. The location is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to midnight.
The Hofburg, the Albertina and the Imperial Crypt are in the area. In the summer months, a visit to the cellar is ideal for a cooling break.
