For the City of Vienna, the implementation of this project was a key project for transport policy and it was viewed as a “centennial project”, which resulted in a quick and high-performance transport connection for residents and tourists alike. The Hauptbahnhof (Central Station) connects the North-South and East-West train lines and is simultaneously the most important hub for international and national rail traffic.
Travellers are provided with excellent links. Above all, public networks are closely connection, as coming from the U-Bahn (underground line U1), as well as the S-Bahn (lines S1, S2, S3, S7, S60, S80), and trams (lines O, D, 18), you can quickly and directly reach the station hall via escalators and lifts. Good links with bus lines (lines 13A, 69A, N66) are also offered.
